Always wanted to visit Spain.
If I don’t understand Spanish, am I going to have a tough time (like ordering food, asking directions, etc) or is English widely spoken there?

You should definitely visit Spain, you will have a great time! English is spoken, particularly in the big cities and tourist areas. Learning a few simple phrases in Spanish (check out this post I wrote – Useful Spanish phrases for traveling in Spain) or taking a phrasebook will help though.
And from a straight single lady’s point of view, Spaniards are also something that may attract me to visit Spain one day for holiday. And don’t forget about football, all these Messi vs Ronaldo shenanigans wouldn’t even happen if it’s not for Spanish league and the rivalry of Real Madrid vs Barcelona! 🙂

Haha that is true the Spanish guys are quite easy on the eye! My sister-in-law is always amazed by how hot the Policemen are when she visits 🙂 Football is very important here and watching a game or going on a stadium tour is a great thing to enjoy as a tourist. I have visited both the Camp Nou and Bernabeau and they are awesome!
For all these reasons you’ve mentioned – I have to visit Spain! It’s my ultimate destination after I watched a movie set in Spain. The culture, the food and the beaches are amazing! Thanks for a great post!
